Generating an annual sales turnover of
approximately 7m Euros since the year it
was founded in 1987, TEKAS A.Ş.
was one of the leading companies of the
Turkish building materials sector that
had acquired a wealth of experience and
expertise through the long years of not
only manufacturing a wide variety of
cement based building chemicals,
finishing decorative stucco and paints
for both internal and external
applications but also offering turn key
solutions and delivering the first ever
application of the complete thermal
insulation systems in Turkey via its own
dealer network nationwide.
With a view to utilising the technical
know how and expertise that TEKAS
A.Ş. had acquired over the years,
ceMMic A.Ş. bought out the 51% of
TEKAS’ shares together with all its
trade name rights and it was decided in
due course that TEKAS A.Ş. cease
operations.
Under the commercial title of TEKAS
Ltd, a company was established in
February 2007, which took over all the
customer portfolio and the dealer
network of TEKAS A.Ş. which at
that time exceeded a total of 150
independent firms throughout the country.
TEKAS Ltd, although a newly
established commercial concern, is now
serving as a marketing, distributon and
turn key application company.
ceMMix A.Ş.: Operating in a fully
automated and computer controlled
manufacturing facility with a closed
area of 2,500 sq mt, ceMMix A.Ş. has an
annual production capacity of over
100,000 tons of building chemicals per
annum. Based in Tavşanlı, Gebze district
of the province of Izmit/Kocaeli,
ceMMix A.Ş. manufactures cement
based building chemicals, adhesives for
ceramic wall and floor tiles, industrial
mortars, plasters and adhesives for
fixing thermal insulation boards. The
value of the plant is to the tune of
€7m, a significant investment which is
noteworthy as it was fully paid by
private capital. All the devices and
equipment in the R& D laboratory are
brand new, 2007 model equipment.
In February 2007, Tekas Ltd and
ceMMix A.Ş. decided to amalgamate
their operations, staff and activities
further under the single name of TEKAS &
ceMMix through which they could manage
the business, develop new markets and
expand the dealer network of application
companies together and that would also
include the coordination of domestic and
international sales as well.
TEKAS & ceMMix aim at developing
business and further capabilities
through R& D activities and are keen to
share their extensive technical know how
and expertise with the members of the
Turkish construction sector. The
importance that the company attaches to
the concept of creating a culture of
continuous development and attaining the
highest ever quality levels is evident
from the work that has been carried out
to obtain the ISO EN 9001
Standard and CE marking. Today, the
company manufactures products under two
different trade names i.e. “TEKAS”
and “ceMMix”.
TEKAS & ceMMix are confident that
their business will grow with exports to
international markets and are committed
to spending every possible effort to
make that happen, since they regard it
as a duty to the Turkish economy.
In 2008, we intend to export building
chemicals to countries like Ukraine,
Kazakhstan, Georgia and Northern Iraq
and companies that are operating in
these countries as construction
contractors. Therefore, with the
expertise of TEKAS which spans a
period of 20 years, we have the will, a
TEKAS licence and capability to
fully use our production capacity which
is well over 200 tons per day and export
the output to world markets.
This in mind, we would be more than
happy to consider developing new
products in cooperation with foreign
companies and presenting them for use in
the local and international construction
industry, entering into a Joint
Venture or contract production
arrangement with a foreign company so as
to have access to international markets
and benefit from their experience.
We would be pleased to consider any
other business arrangement that foreign
companies could be keen to look at.
